Work.
I'm starting to feel like the work I do is... not interesting. Well, it's kinda interesting, but it would be a lot more fun to write embedded software that powers toy robots or something more tangible. Right now I spend months writing software and only a handful of people are even aware of its existence. It's not like I can point to something and say, "I did that." The closest I come to that is when I set LEDs on the base station or the CPE. That's like the highlight of my job, when I set the LEDs a certain way and I can walk through the lab and recognize the way the LEDs are blinking as my work. How sad is that. I wonder if there are any companys in San Diego that make robotic toys or something along those lines. I'd feel a lot better about producing something I could see people enjoy. I wonder how many people are using something that I had a hand in creating. I'll bet if you count the Qualcomm base station and our trials in Japan right now it'd be over 100,000. I guess that's something. LOL.
