Rebuttal.

Dear Board of Directors,

This letter is written in response to the notice dated October 24, 2003 stating that my patio gate covering was in violation of the Association’s governing documents, inclusive of CC&R’s, Rules & Regulations, Policies, etc. I removed the covering in question prior to October 24, 2003. I therefore humbly request that the Board of Directors see fit not to fine me $25.00 per day as outlined in the aforementioned notice. I am unable to present my case at the next board meeting due to my work hours. On a side note, I’d like to express how fortunate I feel to live in a community that enforces such an exalted standard of decency. I shudder to imagine the chaos that would inevitably ensue if people were free to hang the patio gate coverings of their choosing.

Sincerely,

Erik Rivard

Driving to Heaven.

Do you ever walk alone in the night? Walking anywhere. Nowhere. Looking up at the night sky you can see the silver light of the moon. Your companion no matter where you are in the world. Every once in a while there's a moment when life slows down and you have a chance to look up at the moon. Seeing it as if for the first time, without the accustomed weariness. Realizing once again how striking it is against the darkness of the night sky. I enjoy those moments when it seems that everyone else is caught up in their own personal dramas. Those moments when ambition is peeled back. When the raw, naked state of your existence is exposed. The moon and I enjoy those moments together.
