Credit where credit is due.

Patricia Wilson, you are my hero.

Bush, who promised to be "a uniter not a divider" during his 2000 run for the White House, said he did not think it was too late for reconciliation.

"I think most people think that all are very anxious to get some things done and to work together. I believe in sharing credit and when we come together I will do my best to share credit."

In the past year, there has not been a lot of credit to share. Gas prices are up, 46 million Americans are now without health insurance, more than 2,000 U.S. troops have died in Iraq, Osama bin Laden and his top deputies are still on the loose, the Hurricane Katrina response was bungled, a top White House aide has been indicted for leaking the identity of a covert CIA operative and Republicans have been ensnared in a lobbying scandal.

It warms the heart to see a critical press again.
